Cathy Patterson (AB, College of William and Mary; MA, PhD, University of Chicago) is Associate Professor of History at the University of Houston. She is author of books and articles on society and government in early modern Britain. Her most recent book is Urban Government and the Early Stuart State: Provincial Towns, Corporate Liberties, and Royal Authority in England, 1603-1640 (Boydell Press, 2022)
