Dr. Andrew Boyd received his A.B. with Honors at Oberlin College with majors in mathematics and economics in 1981, and his Ph.D. in Analytics/Operations Research from MIT in 1987. He is retired.
Dr. Andrew Boyd is happily retired, having spent ten years as a university professor and another ten as Chief Scientist at PROS. He received his A.B. with Honors at Oberlin College with majors in mathematics and economics in 1981, and his Ph.D. in Analytics/Operations Research from MIT in 1987. He has over twenty-five scholarly publications to his credit, including papers in Operations Research, Management Science, and Mathematical Programming, among others. He has held numerous research grants from agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the Federal Aviation Administration, has written numerous technical articles and book chapters, and was part of a 2003 Edelman finalist team for work with Texas Children's Hospital. He was elected an INFORMS Fellow in 2007 and was a co-recipient of the INFORMS Impact Prize for contributions in the practice of revenue management. He has two wonderful grown children and is rapidly approaching his fiftieth wedding anniversary with wife Sarah, a Professor of French History at the University of Houston.
